Another cracking lot of Prime Cattle forward and trade still as strong as last week’s dizzy heights.
Top on the day to 348p/kg (£2,332) for a classy 670kg Limousin steer in from Messrs W T Bryant & Sons of St Martin, Helston, with their top 586kg Limousin heifer topping that section as well at 347p/kg (£2,033).
A quality 609kg Limousin heifer from Messrs S M & J Blee of St Martin, Helston featured next at 345p/kg (£2,101).
A topping run of heifers in from Trevedra Farm Partnership of Sennen followed in the heifers with their 15 month old 574kg Limousin at 341p/kg, their 572kg Limousin at 339p/kg and their 573kg Limousin at 337p/kg thereafter.
Trevedra Farm Partnership then saw their 18 month old 679kg Limousin steer part away for 337p/kg (£2,288) and another young 17 month old 653kg Parthenaise x steer in from Messrs W H & L M Williams & Son of Allet, Truro looked very well sold as usual at 335p/kg (£2,188).
Many more quality animals forward which again are too numerous to mention. Overall, 10 of the 23 strong entry all topping £2,000 and 15 over 300p/kg.

Cull prices are still following the trends of the Prime Beef and holding firm.
A good 744kg South Devon cow from Mr A L Pascoe of Fraddam, Hayle topped the beef types at 242p/kg, with an 814kg Limousin from Messrs C D & S C Rodda of Crantock, Newquay at 233p/kg thereafter.
Two Simmental cows forward from Messrs A D, D J & N C Freeman of Penhallow, Truro realised 225p/kg and 200p/kg, with a trio of Limousins from Mr R E Richards of St Keverne, Helston well in the mix at 206p/kg, 204p/kg and 202p/kg.
Dairy types topped out at 188p/kg for a Friesian cow from Messrs S M & J Blee of St Martin, Helston, with a Fleckvieh cow from Messrs M J & R M Tremayne of Constantine, Falmouth one bid behind at 187p/kg and a Friesian cow from the same vendor at 178p/kg thereafter.

Greater numbers this week and a higher proportion of which being forward, short-term stores.
Another thumping trade which saw steers top at £2075 for a single 20-month-old South Devon from Mr C Eustice of Crantock, Newquay, who sold another single at £2040 and a 19-month-old of the same breeding at £1390.
Angus from Messrs J M, S K & J K Sawle of Gunwalloe, Helston marketing their choice steer at £1970, followed by a further four at £1865 and a trio at £1605, all being 21-months-old.
Mr D C Lugg of St Martin, Helston sold a strong 2-year-old British Blue at £1740, and was closely followed by a Blue of similar age from Mr E B Estlick of Idless, Truro, realising £1735.
Mr Estlick also sold a 2- year-old Simmental at £1555, whilst a pair of 2-year-old Angus from McCardell and Thompson Limited of Summercourt achieved £1700.
Further strong types in from Ms E Pascoe of Helston for her 27-month-old Limousin at £1670, and a 21-month-old Hereford at £1650 on behalf of Messrs W R T and A S Guy of Portholland, Truro.
Heifers were also a grand trade, selling to £1715 on behalf of Mr D C Lugg for his 24-month-old Blue, who also went on to sell a slightly older Blue at £1670 and a pair at £1540.
A trio of 19-month-old South Devons from Mr C Eustice achieved £1565, whilst a single 2-year-old Angus from Messrs W R T and A S Guy parted away at £1500.

Another good entry of calves seeing spirited bidding throughout the sale, with all bull calves on offer achieving an average of £315.
Top honours this week went to Messrs R N & D Jenkin from Manaccan, Helston with their top priced British Blue x bull flying away to £480, another at £470, a younger British Blue x bull at £305, and also topping the heifer section with their British Blue x heifer at £380 and another at £335.
Messrs A D & J A Bray from St Martin, Helston also had a brisk trade with their Limousin x bulls making £428, £418 and £400 and their British Blue x bulls selling for £365 twice, and going on to sell a British Blue x heifer for £372 and an Aberdeen Angus x heifer for £302.
Messrs C J & P H George from Tresillian, Truro sold a very young run of calves this week with their best British Blue x bull making £300 with others to £270 and their British Blue x heifers to £250.
Further young Limousin x bulls to £260 for Mr P H Bunney from East Taphouse, and Mr A C Harris from Carn Brea sold Hereford x bulls to £225 and other Hereford x bulls to £215 for Messrs J R, P M & D W Treleaven from Trenarren.
A very smart young Charolais x heifer flew away to £315 for Messrs J & S Trembath from Gurnards Head and Limousin x heifers to £240 for Mr N Warren from Withiel seeing plenty of other vendors marketing heifers between £240 to £300. Certainly more calves required to meet this strong demand.

A very foggy morning on Wednesday but the heat of the trade in Truro soon burned it off. Trade well and truly ablaze despite few continentals and many hill bred / plainer / grazer types.
Of the few continentals forward, a smart pen of Texel ewes from Messrs T B & M B Osborne of St Eval, Wadebridge were at the fore selling to incredibly competitive bidding and the hammer going down at £209 apiece.
Only a bid behind them at £208 was the best of a pen from Messrs T F & D J Crapp of Helston. Two pens of heavy Zwartbles ewes from Messrs A P & S R Hooper of St Columb followed on at £168 and £160.
A broken mouth wether from Ms A J Gluyas-Morrish of Camborne topped the ram section and looked very well sold at £158. In the Sheep (2T) section a huge single from Mrs B Baxter of Porkellis, Helston led the way at £158.
Also of note were a smart pen of 8 two-tooths from Mr S G Collins of St Newlyn East, Newquay which realised £128.50. Many many more could have been sold on the truly exceptional trade.

An increased entry on the week and a stand on trade to match, selling to £139 on behalf of Mr B Cowell of Helston for his trio of Charollais x followed by a trio from Messrs P T R and P E Jones and Son of Crantock, Newquay at £137.
Hot on their heels were a framey pen from Messrs A P and S R Hooper of Castle-an-Dinas, St Columb at £136.50, followed by a smart, even pen from Mr W J Hosken of Manaccan, Helston at £135.50, with further pens from the same vendor realising £129.50 and £127.
Also of note was a large run from Mr C J Allen of Penwithick, St Austell with pens to £126.50 and £122 to name but a few, whilst McCardell and Thompson Limited of Summercourt sold a good quality pen at £135 and Mr S Turriff of Tregavethan, Truro sold a pen of Dorsets at £134.
Plenty of demand for all types and vendors are encouraged to capitalise on the prevailing trade.
