With the deadweight prices still increasing week on week, the liveweight is hot on the heels and holding firm to match.
Top price steer at 344p/kg for a good young Limousin from Messrs R G & J M Prowse of St Allen, Truro with a 614kg Limousin steer from Messrs T A & A M Wills of St Erme, Truro next in line at 338p/kg (£2,075).
A 686kg Blue steer from Mr R I Nicholls of St Clement, Truro parted away at 337p/kg and claimed the top pounds-per-head of £2,312.
A 636kg Angus steer from Mr D L Grigg of Truro realised 336p/kg (£2,137), a 640kg Angus steer from Messrs D C & S A Martin of Helston went under the hammer at 335p/kg (£2,144), a Limousin steer from Messrs E, M & S Beale of Porthtowan, Truro topped at 330p/kg and another Blue steer at 634kg from Mr Nicholls made 328p/kg (£2,080).
The trade for heifers looking just as dear with top at 337p/kg for a 566kg Angus from Laity Farms of Gwinear, Hayle and a South Devon from the same stable at 334p/kg (£2,088) thereafter.
A 641kg Blue heifer from Mr Grigg looked well sold at 330p/kg (£2,115) and a 640kg Hereford heifer from Messrs Beale was close behind at 324p/kg (£2,074).

Top beef type to 276p/kg for a quality Simmental cow from Messrs I D & S S Backway of St Eval, with a Shorthorn cow from Mr K M Wilkin of Mount Hawke, Truro at 248p/kg, a Devon cow from the same vendor close behind at 244p/kg and a Simmental cow from Mr P I Hodge of Manaccan, Helston sold at 234p/kg thereafter.
Dairy types topped by a run of Friesian heifers from Mr D J Heller of Blackwater, Truro with prices at 275p/kg, 258p/kg, 248p/kg to name just a few and a cowaged Friesian steer from Mr N Withers of Kea, Truro sold for 229p/kg.
Many more animals forward in the 190p/kg to 215p/kg range which are too numerous to mention.

A good quality entry to report this week selling to £2100 for a tremendous single 33 month old Limousin steer from Mr R I P Andrew of Coverack, Helston, who also sold a further five at £2000 and a trio at £1850.
Mr R A Rundle of Kestle Mill, Newquay sold a cracking 21 month old South Devon to £2090, another at £1910 and a younger South Devon steer to £1470.
Messrs J R Stephens & Son of St Winnow, Lostwithiel sold their usual quality South Devons to £1990, £1940 and £1800, and a 30 month old Angus steer from Messrs A D, D J and N C Freeman of Penhallow, Truro parted away at £1900.
Messrs Freeman went on to sell a further pair of Angus to £1735, whilst a pair of 18 month old Limousins from Messrs S M & J Blee of St Martin, Helston parted at £1880 with a slightly younger trio at £1750 thereafter.
Younger steers selling to £1255 on behalf of Mr W C Bottrell of Sancreed, Penzance for 10 month old Angus and followed by a single 2 year old Limousin from Messrs W S Gay & Son of St Allen, Truro at £1230 and further smart Angus from Mr Bottrell at £1195 and £1185.
Heifers selling to £1790 for a trio of Limousins for Mr R I P Andrew, who sold another at £1720 and a pair at £1450, followed by Mr J Wilkinson of Constantine, Falmouth at £1765 for a pair of 22 month old Angus.
Messrs A D, D J & N C Freeman sold a trio of Angus at £1630, Messrs S M & J Blee sold four 1½ year old Limousins at £1620, whilst Mr J F Rowe of Menabilly, Par sold a single 19 month old Angus at £1570.
Mr A Old of St Mawgan, Newquay sold a 22 month old Blue at £1555, whilst Messrs W H B Stevens and Daughter of Helston sold a pair of 2 year old Herefords at £1460 and a further pair at £1370.
Best of the younger heifers to £1060 for a single 11 month old Simmental from Messrs L W & S Hosken of Helston, who then sold a further trio at £1060 also, whilst Mr M Rawlinson of St Austell sold a pair of 1 year old Devons to £895 and an 8 month old Shorthorn at £885.

The young calves sold to £390 for an Aberdeen Angus x bull for Messrs A G Cave & Son from Rame who went on to sell further Aberdeen Angus x bulls for £385 and £360, and selling a Aberdeen Angus x heifer for £360.
Hereford x bulls sold to £360 twice for Messrs R M & C D Rundle from Mevagissey with another at £300 and their Hereford x heifer achieving £238.
The best of the British Blue x bulls to £300 for Messrs P S & S H Hammett from Wadebridge who also sold a British Blue x heifer close behind at £290.

These were followed closely by a big single Suffolk x from Messrs Newlyn Farm Partners of St Newlyn East, Newquay selling for £173. Next was a pen of Texels from Messrs R & J Bailey of Frogpool, Truro at £168 apiece.
Many more could have been sold and vendors are strongly encouraged to market ewes on the exceptional trade. Overall sale average £134.

This week saw a grand entry of over 200 store hoggs forward, and a fantastic trade for all on offer. Prices peaked at £140 apiece for a strong pen of stores from Messrs K S & L Dodd of Old Kea, Truro.
These were followed by the best of a big run of over 80 head of Suffolk mule x Charollais stores from Watson Symth Farms Ltd of Padstow which peaked at £137, and with an overall average of £124.50.
Further strong prices for Mr T Walters of Carleen, Helston with a big single selling at £137, then Mr & Mrs J A Morphew of Penrose, Wadebridge with a pen of Texels at £136.50.
Many more could have been sold on the roaring trade. A single couple forward from Mr T Simmonds of St Columb with a 2 shear ewe and month old lamb selling at £190.
Also, a huge Suffolk Mule ewe thought to be in-lamb, but unscanned, realised £151 for Newlyn Farm Partnership.
