NEWQUAY'S Trenance Cottages staged its most successful family-fun Halloween event on Sunday, October 27.
Hundreds of people descended on the heritage attraction in Trenance Gardens for an afternoon of spooky crafting and games in the function room of the cottages. The afternoon also saw the ever-popular races taking place along the stream — this time the plastic ducks being replaced by plastic pumpkins.
The heritage charity were boosted by hundreds of pounds from the entry fees, races and a raffle. The popular garden cafe also did a roaring trade on the day.
As darkness fell the event culminated in a new spectacular and spooky lights show, funded by Experience Newquay, which enveloped the cottages. The display will continue the end of the month before featuring again in the near future.
A spokesperson for the cottages said: “We would like to thank all our volunteers who did so much to make the event such a tremendous success and, of course, all those who came along to enjoy the day. The lights display provided the perfect to our Halloween celebration. Thank you one and all.”
The family friendly event is part of Spooky Newquay and the Be Newquay Festival.
