TOWN councillors have given their support for the installation or removal of a number of disabled parking bays in residential areas around St Austell.
Cornwall Council has consulted the town council on proposals to create new bays where necessary or remove those that are no longer required.
Cornwall Council says the intention is to provide convenient on-street parking for people with mobility issues or to free up on-street parking spaces by removing bays no longer needed.
Town councillors supported new bays near 26 Porthpean Road and near Flora Cottages in Boldventure Avenue, and the removal of bays near 11 Highfield Avenue and in Clarence Road near its junction with Tewington Place.
A public consultation has been held on the proposals.
