TEN pupils from a school in the Clay Country are preparing for a 33-day environmental sailing expedition.
The Year 9 students from Brannel School in St Stephen will be setting off from Fowey in the spring.
Their 1,500-mile adventure, passing across the Celtic and Irish Seas, will take them to Scotland and back.
The pupils, who are aged 13 and 14 and known as Team Aventurus, will be helping with plastic pollution research during the expedition with the Morvargh Sailing Project.
As part of their preparation, the students, who are highlighting marine pollution, including ghost fishing gear, undertook a beach clean at Poldhu Cove near Mullion.
The Roseland Youth Sailing Trust has given £2,500 to the team towards the voyage.
