A TALK on the struggles faced by miners’ wives in Cornwall in the past is being given at St Austell Library.
Local historian Helen Luther, who is the Fowey Museum curator, will be speaking on Thursday, November 14, at 6.30pm.
A spokesperson for the library said: “The talk is about the troubles and strife of Cornish miners’ wives. How did they manage with no welfare or state pensions? Entry is £2 and refreshments will be available. Tickets must be pre-booked.”
Meanwhile, a Christmas craft fair is being held at the library on Tuesday, November 19, between 10am and 1pm.
