Two St Ives September Festival events have sold out with more than a month to go to this year’s 15-day festival of music and arts.
All tickets have been snapped up to see Harry Glasson, writer of the modern-day folk anthem Cornwall My Home and many other songs of Cornwall in An Audience With... his friend singer-songwriter Will Keating at St Ives Arts Club on Sunday, September 15.
The Arts Club’s Swinging Sixties Theme Night, where the film Catch the Wind: St Ives in the 1960s will be shown, has also sold out for Tuesday, September 17.
But there are still three opportunities to see award-winning director Diana Taylor’s film at the Arts Club with lunchtime screening, plus Q&As with Diana, on September 15, Monday 23 and Thursday 26.
With no big-name attractions this year at The Guildhall, which is closed pending a major redevelopment, there has been more demand for shows at other venues.
These including Green Diesel, Rue and her band and Martyn Barker at the Arts Club along with Ray Lewis, former lead singer of The Drifters, the Troubled Notes, Tango In The Night’s Fleetwood Mac show, St Ives’ 2019 winner of ITV’s The Voice Molly Hocking, plus Bailey Tomkinson and The Locals at St Ia Church.
