A COFFEE morning held in the St Austell area has raised more than £630 for charity.

Brian Goodman, the chair of St Austell Friends of Cancer Research UK, said: “We held a coffee morning and the marvellous sum of £634.02 was raised on the day, with more to follow.

“We had a tombola, raffle and lots of things to buy including books. There was also lots of lovely coffee, and cakes as well.

“It was a very successful morning and the weather, despite the prediction of rain, kept fine.

“Thanks go to all who provided prizes and items to sell, and those who supported this worthwhile cause.”
