St Ives Leisure Centre is launching weekly activity sessions for seniors on Wednesday, February 5 from 10am to 12pm.
The programme will include circuits from 10.15-11am and a senior swim or table tennis from 11am to midday. There will also be an opportunity to chat and enjoy a hot drink afterwards.
Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs St Ives Leisure Centre on behalf of Cornwall Council.
GLL’s Community Sport Manager, Karen Edmond, said: “The benefits of keeping active in our later years are well recognised by health professionals.
“Those taking part are guided by experienced professionals and, because you’re surrounded by like-minded people, there’s a sense of camaraderie that’s good for the mind as well as the body.
“In my job, I see the difference staying active can make on a daily basis and can heartily recommend these new weekly sessions at St Ives.”
