Santa will once again be touring the streets of Newquay and district to help get the community into the festive spirit.

With the aid of his elves from Towan Blystra Lions Club, Father Christmas will be towed in his sleigh and, as usual, will be delighted to stop, chat and have photographs taken as he tours the area.

This year’s tour will start with the turning on of the Christmas lights at St Newlyn East on Thursday, December 7.

Father Christmas’s tour around Newquay will see him visit the Tretherras area on Monday, December 11, from 6pm, which will take in Cavendish Crescent to Pydar Close.

He will be in the Treloggan area on Tuesday, December 12, from 6pm.

Santa will be riding on his sleigh throughout St Columb Minor on Wednesday, December 13, from 6pm.

Father Christmas will be visiting streets in the town centre and Tregunnel on Thursday, December 14, from 6pm.

He will be attending Nansledan’s Christmas lights switch-on on Friday, December 15, at 5pm, which will be followed by a tour.

Santa will be outside Newquay Football Club on Saturday, December 16, from 4pm to 4.25pm. Afterwards, he will be in the club’s grotto – search ‘Newquay Football Club Santa tickets’ to book a visit.

Father Christmas will be outside Morrisons with his helpers on Sunday, December 17.

He will be at DISC in the Sandy Lodge Hotel in Hilgrove Road on Monday, December 18, between noon and 4pm and at Quintrell Downs from 6pm. Santa’s tour will finish at The Goldings on Tuesday, December 19, from 6pm.

Lion Phil Bunt said: “This year, some of the routes have been adjusted to reflect the popularity of Santa’s attendance across a wide area but, if he’s not actually coming down your street this year, you will be able to track his progress every day on the online Santa tracker, so finding him won’t be an issue.

“As always, Santa’s elves will be equipped with their special long donation tubes to drop a few coins in to, with the collection going to help local good causes.”

More information about the routes and how to access the Santa tracker will be available soon at the website, www.newquaytowanblystralions.org.uk, and listen out for the daily updates on Radio Newquay’s breakfast show.
