MEMBERS of running groups have put their best foot forward in Newquay for charity.

Newquay Road Runners took part in a relay event to celebrate international running day and raise funds for Cornwall's Air Ambulance’s Heli 2 appeal.

The club invited Perran Trail Runners, Wax Gym and Perran Trail Runners to the fundraiser.

Teams of five people completed a five kilometre course with each runner running one kilometre. 

Perran Trail Runners where the quickest on the day completing the course in 18 minutes 55 seconds.

John Beard from Newquay Road Runners said: “We raised £119.61, and the club has donated another £100 to have its name on the new helicopter.”
