A feast for the mind is on the menu at Truro Cathedral when multi-award-winning chef, restaurateur, writer and presenter Rick Stein drops in on March 13 as part of his UK tour.

An Evening with Rick Stein will see the culinary legend delve deep into his lifelong love affair with cookery and dish up anecdotes from nearly 50 years of gastronomic experience.

From humble beginnings to the pinnacle of culinary success, Rick Stein has published more than 25 cookery books, made 30 TV programmes and run 10 restaurants and several hotels. It all makes for fascinating conversation.

“Touring the country with a show sounds really grown up, like being in a band on tour: ‘Oh, it’s Liverpool, it must be Saturday’,” laughs Rick.

“I’ve discovered of late that I love talking about my life to a live audience. I’ve got lots of stories people seem to really enjoy: why my nightclub got closed down in the 70s, what Keith Floyd was really like, what the Dalai Lama knew about cooking, and why a pint at 5.29pm is so important.”
