RESIDENTS are being offered the opportunity to recycle their Christmas trees free of charge in Newquay.
Newquay Town Council has opened a drop-off point at South Fistral car park until January 31.
The environmental team will take the Christmas trees to be chipped and use the chippings on the flowerbeds throughout the town.
Dozens of Christmas trees have already been dropped off to the designated drop off area.
A council spokesperson said: “Our free Christmas tree chipping service is back by popular demand.
“People can bring their real Christmas trees to our drop-off point.
“Last year 416 Christmas trees were dropped off, which was approximately three to four tonnes. Can it be beaten this year?”
