The UK’s little family-friendly festival Tropical Pressure is back this summer with a whole new area celebrating people, positivity and the planet.
The three-day event takes place from July 12-14 at venue overlooking Porthtowan Beach on the north coast of Cornwall.
Over the last decade Tropical Pressure has become famous for its intimate and authentic vibe, great food, and incredible line-up of music celebrating the cultures of Latin America, Africa and the Caribbean.
This year the theme is Movements – with the new area providing an uplifting antidote to doom and gloom and focussing on the power of community, collaboration and positive action.
Festival Manager Claire Marshall said: “Tropical Pressure 2024 promises to be our most memorable yet. We are passionate about creative and cultural enrichment and we are committed to hosting the greenest, most environmentally sustainable festival we can.
“As ever we will be extending a warm welcome to everyone and celebrating diversity and community over three upbeat and vibrant midsummer days.
“With a host of activities all based around our new Movements theme, we will be encouraging people to get together and find new ways to take positive action to protect the natural world.”
Tropical Pressure is based at Mount Pleasant Eco Park and only 3,000 tickets are available for an event which has become renowned as a positive, dance-inducing and life-affirming experience.
During the day and evening the arena hosts live bands from across the tropical world, complemented by a packed schedule of free workshops suitable for all ages.
As the sun sets, the site becomes a sparkly wonderland as world-renowned DJs take over three unique party spaces - Fandangos Nightclub, the Enchanted Dancehall and La Cornucopia - playing tunes from across the globe.
The festival hosts an amazing variety of food traders in the World Food Market (open 8am through to 11.30pm), and all the offerings, from an early morning bagel to late-night fries, are totally plant-based.
The Movements Area will be visually beautiful, including a demonstration permaculture garden and a small woodland area offering a variety of inspiring, creative and empowering activities to inspire festival goers about all the positive actions that are going on in the world around them.
Tropical Pressure is perfect for families with children, providing workshops, performances and a host of activities from bug hunting, to kite making and learning circus skills in the Kids Field.
Add the fact that a stunning Blue Flag beach is just down the hill and you have the perfect recipe for a magical family adventure.
The line-up for 2024 is to be announced soon. The 2023 line-up included a hip hop-reggae-cumbia mashup by Cuba’s La Dame Blanche and Ghanaian Frafra gospel courtesy of Alogte Oho and His Sounds of Joy.
