Students from Pool Academy have been on an educational adventure to Berlin this term.
Their first stop was a fascinating walking tour of the city, where they explored key historical landmarks, including the iconic Brandenburg Gate. The group delved into Berlin’s complex history, particularly the impact of Weimar and Nazi Germany on the city’s development.
The trip was filled with insightful experiences, and after reflecting on Berlin’s past, students embraced some fun at the Mall of Berlin. One of the highlights of their visit was a thrilling slide down the famous Samsung slide.

Students also gained a deeper understanding of the Berlin Wall and its historical significance, adding another layer to their exploration of 20th century Germany.
The trip continued with a guided tour of the Reichstag, Germany's Parliament building, where students learned about the country's political history. The group then had the chance to visit the Olympic Stadium, originally built for the 1936 Olympics.
Pool Academy is committed to offering students valuable opportunities that combine academic learning with real-world experiences, and this trip to Berlin was the perfect example of that mission in action.

Nick Ward, Principal at Pool Academy said: “We are incredibly proud of how engaged our students have been in learning about Berlin’s history.
“This trip has not only broadened their understanding of key historical events but has also given them a deeper appreciation of how history continues to influence the world we live in today. It’s an experience that will stay with them for a lifetime.”
