A public consultation event regarding proposals for a new purpose-built 80-bed nursing home in Par will take place on Monday. There will be three sessions: the first between 10am and noon at Cornubia Community Hub, Par, and two more from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at at Tywardreath Village Hall.
The event will provide an opportunity for the local community to find out more and share their views about the potential redevelopment of the existing Hendra Court Care Home in Par (formerly known as Elmsleigh House), before planning permission is sought.
The new replacement building will accommodate the existing residents from Hendra Court Care Home alongside new residents, offering both residential and nursing care, and including specialist dementia care.
“There is a huge demand for care in Cornwall owing to its ageing population”, said Josie Dorling of Poynton Bradbury Wynter Cole Architects. “The aim is to expand care provision at Hendra Court and provide new and improved internal spaces to meet modern care home standards.”
