Pianist Leon McCawley will perform the first Truro Three Arts concert of the year at the Mylor Theatre, Truro College on January 19.  

The programme will include Haydn’s Sonata I no 34 in D major, Tchaikovsky’s Song of the Lark and Autumn Song from The Seasons, Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 2 in D minor Op. 14, Chopin’s Impromptu in A flat major and Four Impromptus by Schubert. 

Praised for his unfailingly communicative playing, the British musician has been delighting audiences worldwide since 1993, when he won first prize in the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna and second prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition.  

His many concert performances and extensive discography have established him as a pianist of great integrity and variety, bringing freshness and vitality to the classical, romantic and 20th century repertoire.  

Doors open at 7pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £22.50 (under 25s £5), from Cornish Riviera Booking Office (www.crbo.co.uk), tourist information offices and on the door. 

The venue is accessible and there is plenty of free parking, including disabled parking. 

Truro Three Arts is a members’ society and presents six concerts during the season from October to March, but individual ticket buyers are also welcome.
