PACKED with feel-good activities to get tails wagging, Paws on the Beach is back next month to raise funds for RSPCA Cornwall.
Dogs are welcome on the beach at Watergate Bay all year round and on Sunday, May 4, from 11am to 3pm, they are getting their own unique day out.
Supported by RSPCA Cornwall Branch and Watergate Bay Hotel, the event will be packed with canine-friendly activities. Two-legged and four-legged attendees can expect a dog show with dog-friendly ice cream prizes and rosettes for all first place winners, ‘have-a-go’ agility sessions, behaviour and training advice, and guidance from a clinical canine massage therapist.
If that’s not enough to keep the younger members of the family happy, there’ll also be children’s agility, creative arts and crafts, face painting, and classic raffle and tombola stalls, with all donations going to RSPCA Cornwall.
The RSPCA Cornwall Branch is a self-funded charity based in St Columb. All the money raised goes directly to helping animals in the local community.
Food and drink will be available on the beach, and The Beach Hut will be open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner – welcoming dogs and their humans for good food, drinks, cocktails and plenty of water bowls.
Leanne Bawden, RSPCA Cornwall’s community and fundraising manager, said: “RSPCA Cornwall Branch is really excited to bring Paws on the Beach back for its second year. We’ve made it bigger and better for 2025, to become an annual fixture in the Cornwall events calendar. All funds raised will go directly towards supporting the RSPCA Cornwall Branch Centre in St Columb, just a stone’s throw from Watergate Bay.”
Paws on the Beach is supported by Land Rover Discovery, and marks the start of the Watergate Bay beach events calendar.
