Newquay’s most popular play park is set for a £152,000 makeover after funding was secured.
Trenance Play Park has been awarded for £100,000 of investment from Cornwall Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Fund and some other funds from the unitary authority.
Funds were applied to upgrade the playpark next to the Heron Tennis Centre following concerns the facility is falling into disrepair.
He has attended meetings with a number of the local primary schools and their ideas will be feeding into the final design.
The upgrade is due to include an all-weather surface as the area suffers from drainage issues.
Accessible play equipment is also planned to cater for children with disabilities.
