A Newquay community garden’s summer programme of entertainment has kicked off in style on Thursday night, (May 30).

Newquay Orchard came alive with the vibrant sounds of The Old Time Sailors, a sea shanty group featuring 20 talented musicians.

The event drew more than 200 attendees, transforming the orchard into a lively hub of music, dance, and camaraderie.

The band’s authentic melodious sea shanties transported the audience back in time.

The enchanting atmosphere was further enhanced by the event's unique stage set, which featured nautical-themed decor and captivating lighting.

A highlight of the evening was the whimsical smoke bubbles, which floated through the air, mesmerising the crowd.

A spokesperson for Newquay Orchard said: “Fortunately, the skies remained clear, whilst families sprawled on picnic blankets, relaxed on their camping chairs, and danced the night away.

“Overall, the event was a resounding success, bringing the community together for a night of entertainment and enjoyment. The Old Time Sailors' performance made for an unforgettable evening at Newquay Orchard.”
