Cornishman Dean Morris, aka The Gleeman, plays on home turf when he warms up for Ian Prowse (frontman of PELE and Amsterdam) at Truro’s Old Bakery Studios on Friday.
Helstonian Dean combines winning melodies with meaningful lyrics, from quirky and positive numbers to deeper subjects including cancel culture and assisted dying.
His debut album, ‘Something to Say’, comes out on July 5 ahead of an October tour including support slots with Tony Christie.
“It's easy to become consumed with the trials life puts in our path, so it's important to sometimes drink from the glass half full and smell the idiomatic roses,” he says.
