Cornwall Air Ambulance have announced that series two of the TV documentary series Cornwall Air 999 will be starting on Friday, March 24.
The programme follows the critical care paramedics and pilots for a behind-the-scenes look at the work of the charity on some of our lifesaving missions.
Filmed during 2022, viewers will get the rare chance to see the crew in action, responding to real-life emergencies.
The 10-part series will again be narrated by actress and Cornwall resident Dawn French.
Steve Garvey, air operations officer at Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: “Series two once again provides a glimpse into the daily life of specialist paramedics and HEMS pilots here at Cornwall Air Ambulance. It really brings the viewer close to the action of what we do.
“Each year we’re tasked to over 1,000 incidents across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and the programme gives you the opportunity to join us on some of these missions.”
Tim Bunting, chief executive at Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: “How often do you get to see real behind-the-scenes footage of potentially lifesaving critical care? This series is a great way to showcase the vital work that the crew carry out each and every day.
“We are thrilled to be able to show you exactly what happens when the paramedics and pilots are called out on an emergency mission and what your kind donations go towards funding. We couldn’t keep your charity or helicopter running without people like you, and we really hope this new series will inspire you to continue to support our lifesaving work.”
The series has been produced by Beagle Media, who have a local Cornwall base.
The weekly episodes of Cornwall Air 999 will begin on Quest TV on Friday, March 24 at 9pm and will be available as catch up on discovery+.
