A SCHEME to give a fast-food outlet in St Austell a new look has met with the approval of Cornwall planners.

The KFC restaurant on Pentewan Road applied to Cornwall Council for planning permission to carry out an update with the latest brand designs.

The fried chicken chain submitted an application covering new entrance doors, redecoration and a new path. Approval was also sought for new internally-illuminated letters, a new “Colonel” box sign, new vinyl graphics and other new signs.

The council was told: “It is proposed to carry out an Internal and external refurbishment. The works are led by KFC in updating the existing unit to suit the latest KFC designs.”

The town council raised no objection to the scheme.
