A motorcyclist was seriously injured following a collision with a van in St Austell.

A red Honda motorbike was involved in an accident with a grey Ford Transit on Victoria Road at the junction with Morleigh Close on Monday, September 16 at around 5.10pm.

A 46-year-old male rider was flown to Derriford Hospital with serious injuries. 

The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene. Officers from the Roads Policing Team have thanked the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses that have not already spoken to them, but who may have seen the collision, or have dash camera footage.
