Children from Mevagissey School have put the finishing touches to new plants and trees on the green space that holds the village sign on Valley Road.
Pupils from the school’s gardening club attended the Cornerways site on two dates, planting trees in December and bulbs and wildflower seeds this month.
Cornwall councillor James Mustoe said: “I was delighted to work with Cormac to arrange a bulb and wildflower planting session for Mevagissey School’s gardening club.
“It was great to see the enthusiasm and interest from the children in planting and growing things. When I was at the school, I planted a tree at Heligan which is still there now, and the children will be able to see similar results with their plantings.”
The children enjoyed an impromptu mini-beast safari before well-earned biscuits and tea were handed out.
