Be immersed in pomp and pageantry when The Mediaeval Baebes’ torch-lit procession wends its way to Truro Cathedral on Wednesday, December 11.
Concert-goers are invited to join in however they please: bring a drum or a lantern, dress up and frolic, as the illuminated procession sets the tone for a delightful evening of musical magic to come.
Celebrating the festive season, The Ceremony promises a remarkable evening of joyous music, dance and theatre. Carols, traditional folksongs, new compositions and innovative settings of ancient romantic poetry will be set to beguiling choral music accompanied by exotic period instruments.
The Mediaeval Baebes are one of Europe’s most successful female-led, early music and folk ensembles. They have released 11 studio albums and won an Ivor Novello Award for their performance on the BBC serialisation The Virgin Queen, as well as two Emmy nominations and a Royal Television Society award for their role in the theme tune of the ITV drama Victoria.
They recently collaborated with Orbital on Ringa Ringa, which reached number six in the UK album charts in 2023, and TikTok lockdown sensation The Wellerman as part of their Explorations’ remix album.
