Easter holidays are upon us, and I don’t want to jinx it, but the weather is looking great for the occasion.
With four bank holidays in five weeks, the summer season really does start now.
It was brilliant to see so many people out for the market on Saturday, with a fantastic offering of products for sale, and our Killacourt looked resplendent in the sunshine.
I was pleased to host Baroness Natalie Bennett at Clemo Books on Friday night for an engaging question and answer session, followed by Natalie signing her book, Change Everything.
I’d like to thank Jaimie from Clemo Books for hosting such a wonderful event. If you haven’t visited Jaimie at Clemo in the past 18 months, make it a must-do this week — instead of shopping for books online.
Finally, I want to thank all those who have put themselves forward as candidates in the upcoming town and unitary elections on May 1.
Serving your community as its elected representative is an important opportunity. Don’t forget you only have a couple days left to register to vote.

Best week of weather so far and several more days to come with sunshine and light easterly winds.
There is a lot of algae in the sea, known locally as glit. It is a bit earlier than usual, generally called May Weed, when seaweed releases spores.
It is not good for nets as it sticks to the meshes.
It has been busy around the harbour this week and plenty of people on the beaches. This Saturday is quiz night in the Rowing Club at 8pm,then on Sunday at 3pm is a presentation by Cornwall Air Ambulance, as Rowing Club Singers helped with their new CD. All welcome to attend.
