It’s been a very difficult week for many in our community and surrounding area with the affects of Storm Eowyn last week.

It has been encouraging though to see the community come together to offer help and support to those who have seen property damage.

It does focus the mind when such things happen to the ever increasing threat such weather events are likely to cause with climate change in the years that come.

Newquay Green team will be holding a beach clean on Saturday, February 8, as part of the Surfers Against Sewage #millionmilebeaclean initiative.

There will be a very special guest joining which will ensure fun for all the family so keep your eyes on socials for full details to come.

This weekend sees the seventh annual festival of Cornish Brass at St Michael’s church, events begin at 9.30am with bands playing throughout the day from across the county with Newquays band playing at 12.30pm.

Don’t forget this week is the last week you can dispose of your real Christmas trees if you still have one sat in the garden.
