A MAN has died in hospital following a collision involving a car and two pedestrians in St Ives.
Police were called to a report of an incident involving a grey BMW 1 series and two pedestrians at Treylon Avenue on Tuesday, April 30, at 7.45pm.
Both pedestrians, a man and woman, were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The man passed away at Derriford Hospital on Tuesday, May 7.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police, said: “Both pedestrians, a man and a woman, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“Sadly, the man passed away in Derriford Hospital on Tuesday, May 7. The woman remains in hospital with life-changing injuries.”
The driver of the car, a 45-year-old man, was arrested at the time of the collision on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention. He is currently on police bail.
Trelyon Avenue was closed for approximately eight hours to allow forensic collision investigators to examine the scene and for recovery of the vehicle.
