A WOMAN has been injured after falling off a cliff in Newquay in the early hours of this morning (May 8).
Newquay and Padstow Coastguard Search and Rescue Teams, Devon and Cornwall Police, South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, attended the incident at Great Western Beach at about 3.45am.
The woman’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Emergency services were called to Cliff Road. “It was reported a woman had fallen from cliffs and was injured on the beach below. “Police, paramedics, the fire service and HM Coastguard were all called to the scene.
“The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.”
A spokesperson for Newquay Coastguard said: “The team were tasked to assist.
“One casualty was transferred to hospital by the ambulance service.
“We wish them a speedy recovery. Thank you to all agencies involved.”
