Hundreds of people lined Newlyn harbour for the switching on of the Christmas lights.
Santa and the RNLI reindeer arrived on board the Penlee lifeboat to a huge cheer from the crowd who then enjoyed a switch on ceremony, as well as fireworks, late night shopping and entertainment.
The Harbour Lights Committee, which fundraises every year to put on the display, said the event was an amazing show of community spirit.
A spokesperson said: “Massive thanks to everyone who attended the switch on, to all the hard working Newlyn Harbour Lights volunteers who made this happen, to the coxswain & crew of the Penlee Lifeboat, to Penzance Silver Band for entertaining the crowd, to Martin Brockman for the sound system, to Sonic Fireworks & Events for the amazing display, and to all the local businesses who have supported us with cash donations and raffle prizes.”
