Heartlands is to receive a Christmas clean-up as local residents are encouraged to take part in a festive litter pick.
Organised by Clean Cornwall, the Big Christmas Litter Pick will take place on Saturday from 11am-1pm and it is hoped to have as many people as possible helping.
All equipment will be provided, and volunteers will be rewarded with hot drinks and mince pies.
Naomi Gorvin, Clean Cornwall project lead at Cornwall Rural Community Charity, said Heartlands was chosen because inland locations in Cornwall are often forgotten about when it comes to litter picking.
She said: “We would love for as many people as possible from the community to come and join us. We have lots of volunteers who litter pick around the coastline on our beautiful beaches, but fewer in our towns and villages.
“It’s a hugely satisfying activity – you can see how much of a difference you are making with the volume of litter that goes in the bags.
“It’s a fantastic way to make connections, get some exercise and meet people.”
Clean Cornwall is a partnership of volunteers, community groups, local businesses, voluntary sector organisations and the local authority, hosted by CRCC.
