A FORMER bank building in the centre of St Austell has been sold at auction for £150,000 following keen bidding.

The detached two-storey block on Duke Street was formerly used as a bank and then as a training centre.

The building, which has planning permission for six flats and a commercial unit, has been sold through Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers, jointly with Miller Commercial of Truro.

Clive Emson auctioneer David Henwood said: “This substantial commercial property came to auction with planning permission for residential development.

“Keen bidding, which took it above its guide of £140,000, showed the interest in the building.”
