A fisherman is counting the cost after four lobster pots were allegedly taken from his property in Newquay.

Matt King’s fishing gear was reportedly removed from his driveway on Riverside Crescent on Wednesday, January 8, at about 4pm.

He said a white van was recorded pulling into his property and a person loaded the pots into the vehicle before driving off.

Matt, who fishes out of Newquay Harbour, says it will now cost him £440 to replace the pots.

He said: “The van is clearly seen driving onto the premises and a person loading the pots before driving off.

“If anyone happens to have any video footage or images of this white transit van leaving Riverside Crescent before or after these times on Riverside Avenue, Pentire Avenue/Crescent to the roundabout it would be much appreciated.

“It is an inconvenience as the lobster pots will need to be replaced.”
