A FAMILY has launched a fundraiser after their house was damaged during the ‘tornado’ that swept through Quintrell Downs.
Ryan Beer has started a GoFundMe to help pay for repairs after the twister left a large hole in their roof, tore down their fence and blew away the garden shed on Tuesday, January 25.
The family hopes to raise £4,000 towards the funds needed to cover the cost of repairs.
Ryan said: “On January 25, our small village was hit by a devastating tornado that caused serious damage to our home and property.
“In the blink of an eye, our life was turned upside down.
“The tornado left a large hole in our roof, completely blew away our garden shed, and tore down our fence.
“While we’ve managed to temporarily repair the roof with old tiles to prevent further water damage, it’s only a short-term fix.
“We know we need a new, permanent roof to ensure the safety and security of our home.
“The tornado also destroyed our garden shed, which housed essential tools and equipment that we need for basic upkeep of our property.
“Additionally, our fence was torn down, leaving us exposed and vulnerable.
“We are now facing significant costs to replace the roof, rebuild the shed, and restore the fence.
“Unfortunately, these are expenses we cannot cover on our own, and we’re reaching out for help.
“People’s support would go directly toward providing a new, safe roof, replacing the shed, and rebuilding the fence.
“Any donation, no matter the size, will help us get back on our feet and restore our home to a safe and secure place to live.
“We’re incredibly grateful for people’s generosity and support during this difficult time.
“People’s kindness will make all the difference as we recover from this unexpected disaster.
“We would like to thank people for helping us rebuild our home and our lives.”
