NEW affordable homes have been handed over to residents by Ocean Housing following the completion of their latest development phase at Copper Hills, High Lanes.
The 36 homes designated for affordable rent and shared ownership marks a significant increase in the availability of affordable housing in Hayle. It is also a major step in the social landlord’s commitment to providing new affordable housing options for rent and purchase in the area.
The opening event was attended by Ocean Board members and resident representatives from ‘Together With Ocean’ along with new tenants and shared owners from the development.
The development comprises a total of 125 new two, three, and four bedrooms homes which were constructed by Ocean’s sister company, Gilbert & Goode.
To celebrate the occasion, Mark Gardner, Chief Executive of Ocean Group, officially opened the scheme. He said: “Copper Hills is a fantastic example of Ocean Housing and Gilbert & Goode working together to deliver much-needed, high-quality affordable homes for local people in Hayle. It was great to meet some new tenants who have settled in so well.
“Thanks go to the teams involved for their excellent work and to our Board members for making the scheme happen. Ocean will be delivering over 95 more new affordable homes this year throughout Cornwall.”
