ST AUSTELL’S flowers are looking blooming lovely as the spring arrives.
The town council’s grounds staff have produced some fine displays around the town.
Mount Charles Roundabout is particularly striking with its mass of daffodils producing an explosion of colour.
The grounds staff are preparing more colour for the months ahead.
Around 500 dahlias, lupins and calendula plants are being grown in the town council’s polytunnel.
When the spring turns to summer, the council says approximately 6,000 flowers will be planted around the town and in parks.
The council owns and manages 17 parks and open spaces, and leases and manages two car parks.
The council also maintains grass verges, roundabouts, closed cemeteries, footpaths and a number of parcels of land under an agreement with Cornwall Council.
