PERFORMING Arts students from Cornwall College St Austell have announced their upcoming production of Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical Jr at the Keay Theatre in St Austell.

This May, level 2 and 3 learners from the Creative Digital Academy, in partnership with Studio 4, will entertain theatre-goers with an energetic and brilliant performance.

Taking place on May 15 and 16, audiences can expect a captivating rendition of the beloved musical, showcasing the immense talent and dedication of the students.

Matilda is a story of courage, intelligence and resilience, making it a perfect fit for the passionate and dynamic performers of Cornwall College St Austell. It tells the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring Matilda to life on stage,” said James Baggaley, acting curriculum area manager for Creative Digital Academy at Cornwall College St Austell. “Our students have been rehearsing and working tirelessly to create a show that will delight and inspire audiences of all ages.”

Following previous success of the Academy’s full-scale musical for their final major project performance of Chicago and The Addams Family, learners are set to showcase their talents on stage once more.
