FOLLOWING the success of last year’s Cornish Caretakers production, Edward Rowe, Mimi Attenburrow and Gareth Cooper will bring Cornwall’s history to life once again in a new version of the family-friendly show this Easter.

The Cornish Caretakers and the Treasures of Cornishness, directed by Simon Harvey, follows the spikey Mrs Trevaskis Trelawney Tremayne and the hapless Mr Rodda Rowe Rescorla as they endeavour to protect and celebrate Cornwall’s rich heritage.

Along the way, they uncover all sorts of Cornish treasures, from a special Cornish animal to Cornwall’s largest natural habitat and inspiring men and women from the region’s history, entertaining and educating audiences.

Edward Rowe, who plays Mr Rodda Rowe Rescorla, said: “We’re back with a standout team to bring the Cornish Caretakers to life this Easter. Mimi is a talented acting graduate with impeccable comedic timing, and Gareth is an incredible actor who many will recognise from the 2024 Hall for Cornwall panto. This show is all about celebrating Cornwall and its history in a hilarious and accessible way—there’s something for everyone.”

The new show coincides with the launch of SURF!, the museum’s latest major exhibition. Visitors can explore a treasure trove of artefacts, from the world’s longest surfboard to a recreation of Newquay’s original Bilbo Surf Shop and an original 1965 VW Transporter campervan, complete with the sounds and scents of the 1960s.

Free Easter activities include SURF! inspired Make and Take sessions (12.30pm to 3.30pm daily) where families can craft their own surfing character, and a Museum Trail to hunt treasures of Cornishness - with a reward at the end.

The Cornish Caretakers and the Treasures of Cornishness runs daily from April 5 to 21, at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. The performance is included in the cost of museum entry.
