EMERGENCY services were scrambled after two people became trapped by the incoming tide in the Gannel on Thursday night.
Newquay inshore lifeboat and Newquay Coastguard Search and Rescue team were tasked to the incident at 7.20pm.
The casualties were assisted to safety by members of Crantock Surf Life Saving Club and the lone kayaker.
A spokesperson for Newquay Coastguard said: “We would like to thank members of Crantock Surf Life Saving Club and the lone kayaker for their actions.”
Newquay RNLI lifeboats and Newquay Coastguard Search and Rescue Team were also tasked following reports a paddleboarder was in difficulty at the Gazzle on Tuesday, August 20 at 1.50pm.
A spokesperson for Newquay Coastguard said: “Reports came in via 999 of a paddleboarder in difficulty in the Gazzle. Fortunately, the casualty was able to self-recover and was given some safety advice by the team onshore.”
