EMERGENCY services were alerted following concerns for the welfare of a man at the Barrowfields on Friday morning (April 11).

Police, RNLI lifeguards and Newquay Coastguard Search and Rescue Team carried out searches in the area at 11am.

The man was located safely shortly after 12pm.

A spokesperson for Newquay Coastguard said: “We were tasked to assist Devon and Cornwall Police with an incident in the Barrowfields area.

“RNLI Lifeguards Newquay were also tasked to assist.

“After a search of the area with nothing being found all assets were stood down pending further enquiries.”

A police spokesperson added: “Police were called to the Narrowcliff area of Newquay, following a report of concern for the welfare of a man.

“Emergency services attended and the man was located safely.”
