TWO schools in St Austell have been picked to provide free breakfast clubs under a new government scheme.
Carclaze Primary School and Mount Charles School will be taking part in the Breakfast Club Early Adopters Scheme.
The initiative will provide pupils with nutritious breakfasts to ensure they start their school day ready to learn.
The scheme is part of the government’s wider initiative to improve pupils’ outcomes and wellbeing by addressing barriers to learning, particularly those stemming from hunger.
With a focus on supporting the most disadvantaged pupils across the country, the scheme aims to create a level playing field for all children.
By providing free breakfast clubs, the government hopes to improve attendance rates, enhance pupil concentration and encourage healthier eating habits.
