A SECONDARY school in St Austell is celebrating after being judged to be outstanding by Ofsted inspectors.
A spokesperson for Penrice Academy, part of the Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT), said the school was delighted to share the results of its latest inspection.
The spokesperson said: “With outstanding judgements across all areas, quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management, this achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, staff and the wider school community.
“At the heart of Penrice Academy’s success is a relentless focus on aspiration, inclusion and high expectations. Students continue to excel, supported by a well-planned curriculum, outstanding teaching, and a culture of pride, respect and success.
“The inspection report commended the school’s ability to raise aspirations for all pupils, particularly those with SEND and from disadvantaged backgrounds.
“This outstanding achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support of parents, carers and the local community. The partnership between home and school plays a crucial role in ensuring young people receive the best possible education.
“The support from families, local organisations and community leaders has helped shape an environment where students feel encouraged, valued and inspired to succeed.”
Head of school Tanya Coleman said: “This achievement is not just for Penrice Academy but for everyone who has supported us, our families, staff and community partners. Your trust, encouragement and involvement have been instrumental in our success. Together we have created a school where every child can thrive.”
Executive headteacher Lucy Gambier said: “Our students embody the values of Penrice Academy every day. Their commitment to their education, their kindness to one another and their dedication to personal development are what make this school such a special place. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and their role in creating an inclusive, aspirational learning environment.”
