DEVON artist Nick Langdon’s most recent finished piece depicts Coxswain Patch Harvey at Penlee Lifeboat Station who was involved in the rescue of a yacht off Porthleven, and as a result of which was awarded a silver medal for gallantry.

It was that which inspired Nick to produce this drawing, copies of which can be bought from the online RNLI store, and he wanted, in this year of the bicentenary of the RNLI, to donate the original drawing to a suitable local gallery or museum and chose Penlee House Museum and Gallery.

Nick said: “It can be displayed as a lasting and fitting homage to what Patch and his crew accomplished and I decided that Penlee house would be a well-chosen home for it.”
