More than 300 singers from Rock Choir Cornwall entertained Truro shoppers on Saturday as part of a flash mob during their Big Summer Sing. 

Members from Falmouth, Helston, Saltash, St Austell and Truro came together for a joyous afternoon of singing and chat at Truro Methodist Church, led by Marcus Alleyne and with a special visit from Rock Choir founder Caroline Redman Lusher in her third stop on a national tour. 

The “Kernow Rockies” learned Stevie Wonder’s For Once In My Life, before heading to Lemon Quay to sing Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac and a moving performance of Cornwall My Home. 

Rock Choir is the largest contemporary choir in the world, with 33,000 members and an emphasis on health and wellbeing, friendship, kindness and joy. 

“It was an honour to meet our Cornish Rockies in person, so I could thank them for all for their support and loyalty to Rock Choir throughout the long pandemic,” said Caroline. “Members told me how Rock Choir had saved their lives, or given them the friendship and support when they needed it the most. It makes me incredibly proud of each and every one of them.”
