A SOLICITOR from The Family Law Company’s Truro office has been named on the 2025 Pro Bono Recognition List of England & Wales.

Natalie Symons has been included in the list which recognises individuals from the legal sector, both in-house and in private practice, who provide pro bono legal services.

Natalie provides advice via free half hour appointments which are available for divorce, finance, private children law, public children law to include public law outline proceedings, care proceedings and domestic abuse.

This enables potential clients to explore options for their situation before deciding what course to follow.

She also takes instructions, completes and submits legal aid applications and helps clients who are making court applications themselves. If the proceedings are issued, she will then apply for legal aid for that clients.

Natalie Symons joined The Family Law Company in March 2023 as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Legal Executives.

Natalie said: “I’m proud to be included on this list which recognises the lawyers that are going the extra mile for their clients. I’m also proud of the other Cornwall lawyers who provide these services. We may work for different firms but supporting these clients in need should be at the forefront of what we do.”

Pro bono services are vital in helping those who are at risk of not having access to justice due to, for example, not have the financial resources. Typically these are the most vulnerable in society.

Speaking about the lawyers that appear in the list, The Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, The Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill said: “Each has provided at least 25 hours of legal pro bono last year, with many offering substantially more than that. Those lawyers follow the long tradition of the legal profession in volunteering their time to provide free legal assistance to individuals and charities.”
