MEMBERS of the Oddfellows Friendly Society meeting in both Redruth and Truro recently enjoyed a lively afternoon of observation and memory exercises as well as a quirky quiz at their monthly meetings.

Winners were rewarded with miniature Easter eggs. The fun continued with a unique ‘Identify the Chocolate Wrapper’ competition, followed by a small prize raffle, with proceeds going toward a local cause, which will be decided by the members.

Attendees were treated to a selection of chocolate biscuits, sweets, fruit and hot drinks, while also being reminded by the Oddfellows District Welfare Rep of the valuable care, welfare and citizens' advice services available to all Oddfellows members along with various allowances they can access.

The collection for the Shoebox Appeal continued, with members generously contributing hygiene items, toys and blankets. Additionally, the first entries for the 'Decorate a Jam Jar' competition were received with winners to be announced later this year. Shopping vouchers will be awarded to the winners.

The book club was also a hit with several free books finding new homes with members. It was another highly successful and enjoyable afternoon in both Redruth and Truro with a coffee morning to follow.

Future meetings for both groups are scheduled for next month.
