CONTRACTORS working on the new link road between St Austell and the A30 trunk road say they are making great progress.
In an update on the project, civil engineering firm Griffiths said: “We are on track for the whole road to open February/March time in 2025.
“The majority of drainage works have now been completed across the whole road and we have managed to start surfacing in areas between Stenalees and Roche. Unfortunately, this time of year, weather will impact our works, but we are hopeful we can still stay on programme.
“We are working hard to be open sections of the road between Tregoss, Harmony and Trezaise before Christmas. Once these are open, Roche village should see a significant decrease throughout the village, and it would be great to end the year on this.”
The £86-million, 3.9-mile project is being funded by the Department For Transport and Cornwall Council.
