THE community was served up a generous helping of festive fun at a Newquay charity’s annual Christmas lunch.
One hundred and 10 people attended the event organised by the Towan Blystra Lions Club at the Sandy Lodge Hotel in Hilgrove Road.

The guests were treated to roast turkey and all the trimmings. They were greeted with a pre-dinner drink of sherry or orange juice. Lions volunteers and their friends helped to serve the tables to help keep the cost down.

Entertainment was provided with singing from Paula Marcellis and a game of bingo with the hotel owner Peter Butterly as the caller and comedian.

Lion Colin Wellington said: “A great time was had by all. Thank you to all our volunteers for making it a special day.”
Lion Phil Bunt added: “We invited local residents, particularly those who may not have the chance to enjoy Christmas with their families, to get into the holiday spirit at the annual Christmas lunch.”
