Families can enjoy fun activities and entertainment when Children’s Day takes over Lemon Quay on Saturday, July 6.

Some 35 city centre businesses and organisations are taking part, making children and young people their focus.

Free entertainment and activities will include spectacular mountain bike stunt shows, have-a-go circus skills sessions with Swamp Circus, and dance performances from Flanagan’s School of Irish Dance, Cornwall Dance School, Jason Thomas Performing Arts and Stagecoach Truro.

Walking and cycling charity Sustrans will be back with its scooter, balance and pedal bike obstacle course, and a static cycle activity for young people to improve their off-road skills (bikes and helmets provided).

The Royal Cornwall Museum will offer handling of their marvellous minerals, and rock-based art activities. Follow the trail to the museum for ten-minute tours of its new digital lab, from 11am to 3pm.

Inflatables, swing boat rides and crazy golf will also be available, as well as a selection of market stalls featuring art, craft activities and games.

Street entertainment including circus performers and live music will pop up across the city, and many shops and eateries will have in-store activities and offers, including art, offers, competitions and meal deals.

Stalls open from 9am, with activities starting from 10am. Many activities are free, although there will be a cost for some activities such as the crazy golf and the swing boats.

Children’s Day is brought to the city by Truro BID and sponsored by Coodes Solicitors. Truro Farmers Market will hold a slightly smaller market outside the Hall for Cornwall.
